ABOUT

PLATYPUS PATROL

Platypus busy fishing.

I am fortunate to live with my wife and rescued dachshunds Thomas and Cody in the heritage village of Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands inland from Cairns.

Our home is less than 100 m from Petersons Creek where on several mornings each week I take the dogs on a Platypus Patrol to get their exercise. I never go without my camera. We see a plethora of wildlife including the iconic Platypus, numerous species of birds, Eastern Water Dragons, Saw-shell Turtles, Green Ringtail Possums and less frequently Lumholz’s Tree Kangaroos.

I publish photos on my Facebook page for my family and friends and when I have posted them on a Tablelands site You Know You Grew Up or Love the Atherton Tablelands When. I have been amazed at the response.

This blog aims to make these images available to a wider audience and to provide regular reports on weather and track conditions and the wildlife which I have recently seen.
